Kentown Support is thrilled to announce the launch of two PhD fellowships in the area of Palliative Care or Rehabilitation Research, in collaboration with King's College London.
Kentown Support will provide funding for two students who wish to advance excellent and innovative research on the care and support of children and young people with life limiting conditions, and their families.
Candidates are encouraged to submit their own topic ideas, particularly those relating to the community. Examples may include:
Housing
Role of education professionals in caring for children with life-limiting conditions
Employment and benefits
Community palliative care for babies
Both opportunities will be supervised by King’s College London’s Chair of Palliative Care and Child Health, Lorna Fraser. The first is a fully-funded studentship and stipend that will begin in October 2025 and be funded for 3 years. The second role is a salaried position with a fixed term of 3 years.
Dr Helena Dunbar, CEO of Kentown Support, says:
I am thrilled that Kentown Support is able to fund these PHD studentships as part of our new partnership with KCL. As a nurse I understand how difficult it is to access opportunities for further training and development. The funding and supervision from the team led by Professor Lorna Fraser that this studentship will offer will be invaluable.
Those interested in applying can do so via the King’s College London website.
